Motorola-Compatible; Galvantech Now Offering 1-Meg Synchronous Cache Tag SRAMs.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 1998--Galvantech, Inc., a fast-growing CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) Pronounced "c-moss." The most widely used integrated circuit design. It is found in almost every electronic product from handheld devices to mainframes.  SRAM See static RAM.

SRAM - static random-access memory
manufacturer, has entered the market for 1-Meg synchronous cache tag SRAMs with an offering which features pipelined output, 3.3V power supply with clocked registered inputs, clock speeds up to 133 MHz, and access times as fast as 4.5nSec.

This 1-Meg SRAM, organized 64K by 18, is available now for immediate delivery.

The Galvantech memory comes in either 119-lead BGA or 100-pin TQFP See QFP.  packages.

"This CMOS pipelined tag SRAM fits extremely well with MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) The execution speed of a computer. For example, .5 MIPS is 500,000 instructions per second; 100 MIPS is a hundred million instructions per second.  R5000, Pentium Pro(TM), and a range of workstation, networking and graphics accelerator applications," explained David Hayes, Galvantech's director of sales and marketing, who noted it should perform equally as well in a user's system as the Motorola equivalent device.

"Galvantech is in production right now," Hayes added, "thus giving users the most cost-effective equivalents for the highest performance SRAM solutions available in today's market."

Galvantech's GVT7164T18 CMOS tag SRAM integrates 65,536 x 18 SRAM cells with advanced synchronous peripheral circuitry and an 18-bit comparator for tag compare operation. Timing options are available as fast as 4.5nSec access with 7.5nSec cycle time.

The high-speed, lower-power CMOS device from Galvantech operates from a 3.3V power supply. Galvantech's tag SRAM also features automatic power down for portable applications. All inputs and outputs are LVTTL LVTTL Low Voltage Transistor Transistor Logic (AMCC)

Privately-funded Galvantech was launched in late 1994 by Dr. Frank Lee, a co-founder of both Integrated Device Technology IDT (NASDAQ: IDTI) was founded in 1980 as a semiconductor vendor. Employing approximately 2500 people worldwide, headquartered in San Jose, California and operating a fab in Hillsboro, Oregon, the company both designs and fabricates semiconductor components.  (IDT) and Paradigm Technology. Galvantech's design team lead by Dr. Lee has already established a broad SRAM product line, including several 1-Meg and 4-Meg asynchronous Refers to events that are not synchronized, or coordinated, in time.
