BARCELONA, Spain & MILPITAS, Calif. -- Kineto Wireless, Inc., the key innovator and leading supplier of Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA (1) (Unlicensed Mobile Access) See GAN.

The Motorola RSG3500 is the industry's first commercially available residential services gateway with UMA-enabled terminal adaptor (networking, hardware) Terminal Adaptor - (TA) Equipment used to adapt Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Basic Rate Interface (BRI) channels to existing terminal equipment standards such as EIA-232 and V.35.  capabilities used to deliver fixed-line VoIP services from a mobile operator. The RSG3500 has a full-featured, 4-port router and integrated 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi[R] radio for creating a robust and secure home data network. What also makes the RSG3500 unique is that it has been especially designed for seamless mobility, containing advanced packet routing and prioritization for VoIP services; 802.11i for security, including support for WPA WPA: see Work Projects Administration.

"In an effort to accelerate fixed-to-mobile substitution, mobile operators need solutions to deliver high quality fixed-line telephone service into subscriber's homes," said Kevin Keefe, vice president, Motorola Connected Home Solutions. "The Motorola RSG3500 is a full-featured residential services gateway solution, ideal for the mobile operator to deliver reliable, seamless, mobile voice and data solutions. Working with Kineto, we are able to bridge the gap between mobile service and VoIP."

For subscribers, the advantages of a UMA-enabled terminal adaptor are clear. Consumers can now receive a fixed-line telephone service from their existing mobile service provider. Subscribers receive a single bill from the mobile provider and, depending on the service plan, use a single, common family "bucket" of minutes for fixed line calls as well as mobile calls.

"For mobile operators, leveraging UMA technology to deliver fixed-line VoIP services is a low risk, high reward service opportunity," said Ken Kolderup, vice president of marketing for Kineto Wireless. "The Motorola RSG3500 is an ideal solution for taking advantage of this service opportunity."

The Motorola RSG3500 will be on display at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona 12-15 February, 2006 on the Kineto Wireless stand 1A49.

services over broadband IP access networks. By deploying UMA technology, mobile operators can deliver a number of compelling fixed-mobile convergence services. The most well known application of UMA is dual-mode cellular/Wi-Fi handsets, which enable subscribers to automatically roam and handover n. 1. Leading operators around the world have embraced UMA technology as the foundation for their fixed-mobile convergence strategy, including Telecom Italia, France Telecom/Orange and TeliaSonera.
