Motorola Continues GSM Success in Morocco With Maroc Telecom (IAM) $46 Million Expansion Contract.

:MOT) has won a GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) A digital cellular phone technology based on TDMA that is the predominant system in Europe, but also used worldwide. Developed in the 1980s, GSM was first deployed in seven European countries in 1992.  network expansion contract worth $46 million from Moroccan operator Maroc Telecom Maroc Telecom (Arabic: اتصالات المغرب; Itissalatt Al Maghreb; Acronym: IAM) is the main telecommunication .

IAM employs around 11,178 employees.

This is the second expansion contract awarded by Maroc Telecom to Motorola in the last twelve months, and further reinforces the successful partnership which began six years ago when the network went into commercial service. The contract covers expansion and evolution of Maroc Telecom's GSM 900MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  network.
