Motive Joins Home Gateway Initiative.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Motive, Inc., (NASDAQ:MOTV) today announced it has joined the Home Gateway Initiative (HGI), a consortium of leading telecommunications providers, equipment manufacturers and software vendors, whose goal is to facilitate the delivery of home communication services to millions of broadband customers worldwide. The move reinforces Motive's long-standing commitment to industry standards initiatives, which are critical to advancing the adoption of next generation services.

The intent of the HGI is to establish technical specifications that support the interoperability of residential gateways with multiple connected devices in the digital home. The consortium will leverage the work of existing standards bodies such as the DSL Forum, UPnP Forum and Digital Living Network Alliance to identify potential gaps in broadband use cases, and make technical recommendations that result in the availability of high functionality, low cost customer premises equipment (CPE) that supports the delivery of advanced triple play services to consumers.
