This year's event brought together 18 delegates from around the country and a wide variety of unions, the biggest representation of youth activists to attend. This year's camp followed the biennial CTU Young Workers' Council A workers' council is a deliberative assembly, composed of working class or proletarian members, intended to facilitate workers' self-management or workers' control. Unlike a trade union, in a workers' council the workers are assumed to be in actual control of the workplace, rather  in May where it was decided that youth included anyone up to 35 years and people entering a new occupation. It became extinct in the early 20th century, primarily as a result of overhunting and widespread habitat destruction.  Welton.

The three-day training camp was an opportunity for young union delegates to share ideas, set goals and network. Strategies on how to motivate other young workers to join and participate in unions were discussed, as well as the three campaigns identified by the Young Workers' Council--student debt, the abolishment of youth rates and the 2005 election.

These issues are very relevant to nursing students and nurses. We believe a National Government would inevitably cut health spending to provide its promised tax cuts. The public sector multi-employer collective agreement could also be in jeopardy. The CTU supports a Left wing collation COLLATION, descents. A term used in the laws of Louisiana. Collation -of goods is the supposed or real return to the mass of the succession, which an heir makes of the property he received in advance of his share or otherwise, in order that such property may be divided, together with the  government (including Labour, the Greens, and the Progressives) which would continue to support workers' rights. The camp also saw the establishment of regional groups in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. These groups will meet regularly with the aim of strengthening and supporting youth activism locally.

On the Sunday morning, we hit the Wellington markets to gain signatures in support of abolishing youth pay rates. These will be sent with the CTU's submission to the government when the minimum wage comes under review later this year.
