Motivating Employees.


A simple "thank you" still goes a long way in motivating employees, a recent survey of financial executives shows. The survey included responses from 1,400 chief financial officers from a stratified random sample of U.S. companies with more than 20 employees. The question: "Other than financial rewards, which one of the following is the most effective means of motivating your employees?"

Frequent recognition of accomplishments    38%
Regular communication with staff           37
Giving employees increased responsibility  14
Offsite team building and social events     4
