Mother's day memories.

I have a childhood memory of a little metal tree sitting on a side table with small round framed photos of each member of our family dangling from the branches. I loved the way we were smiling in individual images but all together in a group belonging to one another. I have actually recently seen a few of these family trees This is an index of family trees available.  again and have been tempted to purchase one and fill the tiny frames with special family photos. With this idea in mind, I thought it might be fun to group family members' pictures in small individual frames to display in some other ways. Any loving mother, grandmother, or aunt would enjoy receiving these mementos of children and grandchildren for Mother's Day. Here are a few ways to group these miniature images of loved ones loved ones nplseres mpl queridos

YOU WILL NEED:

Small frames or curtain rings (available at craft stores or specialty gift shops)

Several copies of each photo, reduced or enlarged as needed as needed prn. See prn order.  to fit the frames

Black Sharpie fine-point permanent marker A permanent marker is a type of marker pen that is used to create permanent writing on an object. Generally the liquid is water resistant, contains the toxic chemical xylene or toluene, and is capable of writing on a variety of surfaces from paper to metal to stone.  (used to color backgrounds as needed)

Hot glue

Cut pictures to fit appropriately into tiny jeweled frames. Make the background of each photo dark using the black marker to hide other hands or heads if necessary. Place the pictures in the frames. Make sure to use pictures that are approximately the same size. It is helpful to make several copies of one picture and cut the miniatures from the same picture. Attach the framed photos to a small tree, grapevine wreath, or mirror (see details with each photograph).

For the memory mirror, select a wide-framed mirror, and hot glue the small frames to the mirror frame. Be sure to remember family pets!

To create the memory wreath, tie the small framed photos in a randomly spaced pattern to a grapevine wreath with gold ribbon. Add vintage pearls, family costume jewelry costume jewelry

. Add a few sprigs of greenery. Lemon leaves or seeded eucalyptus work especially well and dry nicely.

For the memory tree, begin with a preserved tree or evergreen tree in a container. Cut the pictures, and place them in the tiny frames or curtain rings. Tie them to the branches of the tree.
