Mother/son team restoring 95 Madison to 1912 |grandeur'

The Sklar family, owners of the Emmet Building, 95 Madison Avenue Madison Avenue, celebrated street of Manhattan, borough of New York City. It runs from Madison Square (23d St.) to the Madison Bridge over the Harlem River (138th St.). In the 1940s and 50s, some of the major U.S. , located on the southeast corner of Madison Avenue and 29th Street, have announced plans for extensive restoration of the building to its original 1912 grandeur.

As a first step to "turning back" 95 Madison, the Sklars have installed authentic turn-of-the-century lampposts in front of the building.

 charm of 'Little Old New York' in the 1990s," said Rita Sklar, partner in Ninety-Five Madison Company. "We believe that now more than ever, with the current state of our economy, New Yorkers working together can rebuild New York's image -- architecturally, socially, and economically."

Sklar stated that the renovation of the building, which has been in her family for three generations, will be completed within the year. As part of the project, the Sklars did extensive research on the building which was designed by Barney & Colt COLT. The 16-story building offers 9,500 square feet of prime office space per floor with panoramic views to the north. west and east. Many of the available floors have unique architectural details such as skylights and arched windows.

The restoration of the Emmet Building coincides with the increased desirability of the Empire State South area for corporations seeking to combine good value and old world elegance.
