Telephony Services over Public Switched Telephone Network

Nine leading next generation telephony equipment and software vendors will unveil the most extensive, multi-vendor implementation of Internet Protocol See Internet and TCP/IP.

Additionally, NetSpeak provides SIP network agent enabled server products.

telecom technologies inc.'s INtelligentIP(TM) softswitch provides the SIP/MGCP conversion to the SS7 interconnection, and all of the call control functions for the packet telephony network. MGCP is used to control the signaling between the softswitch and the SALIX ETX ETX - End Of Text 5000(TM) class independent enhanced telephony switch and Ericsson's 511 media gateway. The ETX5000 and the Ericsson 511, which provide seamless interconnection between the PSTN and packet networks, then connect to the global PSTN.

Agilent demonstrates the ability to test VoIP to the PSTN with its FASTest(R) Automation System product. The test system will provide automated, end-to-end service verification of this next-generation communications demonstration. All of the components in the test network conform to industry standard protocols for packet telephony, including MGCP and SIP.
