Moscow hosts tenth Interplastica fair.

The tenth staging of Interplastica, the International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, will take place from January 30 to February 2 at the ZAO ExpoCenter in Moscow, Russia. This event, sponsored by Messe Dusseldorf and its subsidiary, Messe Dusseldorf Moscow, will showcase approximately 480 exhibitors.

Since its premier in 1988, Interplastica is said to have established itself as the leading platform for the plastics industry in Russia and continues to grow. Interplastica 2007 will feature country group participants from Austria, China, Germany, Italy and Taiwan, and for the first time from Portugal and Romania.

Demand for exhibit space from German companies rose by 20% since the 2005 show, and Russian suppliers will occupy 15% more exhibit space.

Positive prospects for the sale of plastics and rubber machinery are said to include the thriving Russian economy, the increased demand in all user industries and the need for new machinery. A multitude of investment projects in all user sectors will drive the demand for machinery, and Russian experts predict that the dynamic expansion of the market will continue in the medium term, according to the sponsor. To date, Russian machinery building is said to be poorly developed and production numbers have little impact on the market, according to the sponsor.

Upakovka/Upak Italia 2007, the 15th International Trade Fair for Machinery and Equipment for the Manufacturing of Packaging, Packaging Machinery, Confectionery Machinery, Packaging and Packaging Aids and Logistics will be held concurrently with Interplastica 2007. The two trade fairs are expected to attract over 20,000 visitors.
