Morrison's own label potato croquettes receive top British Frozen Food Award.


Morrison's The Best Potato Croquettes, produced by Cheviot Foods Ltd., won the British Frozen Food Federation's Gold Award for Best New Vegetable-based Product at the organizations annual Gala Dinner and Dance June 14.

The move to higher quality premium products in the frozen food market was illustrated by the award. The supermarket chain's premium label product is made from smooth mashed potato blended with double cream and butter in a crispy breadcrumb See breadcrumbs.  coating. "I enjoyed this," said one of the judges. "Nice crunchy coating. Fluffy potato. One of the nicest potato croquettes I have ever tasted."

Another potato product won the Bronze award Several organizations issue awards with this name:
  • The Bronze Award (Girl Scouts of the USA).
  • The Bronze Award of the Venturing program of the Boy Scouts of America.
  • A level of the The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
: Aunt Bessie's Homestyle Mashed Potato with Cheese, manufactured by H.J. Heinz Company Ltd. This completes a hat-trick for Heinz, which last year received Gold and Silver honors.

Winner of the Silver Award was another own label product, Sainsbury's Taste The Difference Asparagus asparagus, perennial garden vegetable (Asparagus officinalis) of the family Liliaceae (lily family), native to the E Mediterranean area and now naturalized over much of the world.  Steamer, made by MDC (1) (Mobile Daughter Card) See riser card.
