Neuheisel appeals to UW vice president

SEATTLE - Rick Neuheisel Richard Gerald "Rick" Neuheisel, Jr. (born February 7, 1961 in Madison, Wisconsin) is an American football coach. Formerly a college head coach, he is currently the offensive coordinator for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens, after being promoted from quarterbacks coach on January 15,  has again appealed his firing as football coach at Washington.

On Monday, Neuheisel appealed his gambling-related firing to university vice president Norm Arkans. The vice president for external affairs is out of the office until July 15, and could not be reached to comment on Neuheisel's appeal.

Neuheisel's lawyer, Bob Sulkin, filed the notice with the division of the state attorney general's office that represents the University of Washington. Assistant Attorney General Karen Nyrop confirmed it had been received.

What happens next is up to Arkans, Sulkin said. Neuheisel plans to sue should the appeal fail.

Sheldon's Mart signs with Northwest Christian

Sheldon's Chad Mart has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Northwest Christian College Northwest Christian College is a private, liberal arts college located in Eugene, Oregon and is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. .

The 5-foot-9, 140-pound Mart started at point guard for the Irish for the past two seasons. He was also a starter on the school's state championship football team, and was named first-team all-state at defensive back.

Welker ties for gross title in pro-am
