Morinaga Gets Its Upgraded Food Allergen Detection Kit Designated by Government.Tokyo, Japan, Oct 24, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Leading Japanese confectionery manufacturer Morinaga has developed the Morinaga FASPEK Specified Raw Material Detection Kit, an upgraded version of its regent kit for detecting food allergens such as eggs, milk, wheat, buckwheat buckwheat, common name for certain members of the Polygonaceae, a family of herbs and shrubs found chiefly in north temperate areas and having a characteristic pungent juice containing oxalic acid. Species native to the United States are most common in the West. and peanuts, in collaboration with its group company Morinaga Institute of Biological Science. The new kit, which uses a newly-developed extraction procedure and optimal antigen, has an improved protein recovery rate so it can conduct highly sensitive Adj. 1. highly sensitive - readily affected by various agents; "a highly sensitive explosive is easily exploded by a shock"; "a sensitive colloid is readily coagulated" analysis. The company launched the new kit on September 30 through its sale agencies Seikagaku and FASMAC. Further, the new product has been designated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and in the notification regulation under the Food Safety Law, which was partially amended as of October 11.
