The competition pitted Aristotle's work with corporate clients, such as Arkansas Business Publishing Group, against major Web development firms and design teams building sites for some of the world's foremost companies, including Disney, Eddie Bauer, U.S. News & World Report, Erricsson, the U.S. Navy and General Motors, all of which won top awards.
Arkansasbusiness.com won the best newspaper site award. Launched in December 2000, the site brings together content from the weekly Arkansas Business, the biweekly Northwest Arkansas Business Journal and information from many of ABPG's more than 20 publications. The site also posts daily business news, and registered users can sign up for free daily news updates delivered by e-mail.
The awards were founded to evaluate and recognize standards of excellence in corporate Web site design and programming. The annual award competition is designed to judge corporate Web sites against an Internet standard and against peer sites within an industry.
Ten other Aristotle Web site projects received awards, including ozark mountainregion.com, for Ozark Mountain Region, which won best regional Web site; and mawpt.org, the Arkansas Multi-Agency Wetlands Planning Team site, which won outstanding Web site. Other award-winning Aristotle sites:

* big-cedar.com for Big Cedar Lodge
* fireworks.com for B.J. Alan Co. (Phantom Fireworks)
