More promotion for ag engineering requested. (News Briefs).Promotion of agricultural engineering and mechanization curriculums needs to be stepped up, according to Chad Yagow, preprofessional president of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, speaking to the Equipment Manufacturers Institute's (EMI) annual international meeting in Sacramento, Calif., in August. He said because many employers do not understand who ag engineers are and what they bring to the table, ag engineering programs do not get the recognition they deserve and ag engineering graduates are often shut out of job opportunities for which they are amply qualified. In ASAE ASAE - Alkali-Sulfite-Anthraquinone-Ethanol (pulping process) ASAE - American Society of Agricultural Engineers (Society for Engineering in Agricultural, Food, and Biological Systems) ASAE - American Society of Association Executives ASAE - Autoridade de Segurança Alimentar E Económica (Portugal)'s recent public survey of the greatest engineering achievements of the twentieth century, agricultural mechanization ranked seventh, ahead of the computer and the telephone, Yagow said. |
