More Money For Housing: The California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) allocated $1.3 million, in the form of a 10-year, 3 percent interest loan, to the San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  Housing Commission.

The money came from $10 million in allocations from the Housing Enabled by Local Partnerships (HELP) program.

HELP funds have to be used to produce affordable housing. The money can contribute to the acquisition, development, rehabilitation rehabilitation: see physical therapy. , or preservation of affordable units.
