More devil in our angels: what do lesbians want from the Charlie's Angels sequel? (Summer Movie Preview).

Maybe you didn't ask for it, but you're getting it anyway. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle is finally speeding toward a multiplex near you. In the first CA, the three Angels--Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu--crouched with tigers, hid with dragons, and flipped their hair with faux-retro abandon. But despite pants tight enough to scare a gynecologist, these curvaceous crime-stoppers never, never brushed up against each other or any other woman on the screen. And that's a crime against dykedom and all humanity.

Chicks that hot have to notice each other. But homoeroticism was decidedly MIA in the first CA. A man-drag bit with Cameron and Drew had all the sex appeal of Trent Lott's toupee. Ditto in the real man department, with neonimcompoop Tom Green (no more stunt husband casting, please), Sam Rockwell, Luke Wilson, and Matt LeBlanc. (Is dull looking for spokesmen?) If I were a gay man, I'd be mortally offended at the slim pickin's on the beefcake buffet. Who do they think made Charlie's Angels a hit in the first place?

But chin up, fight fans. Going Full Throttle means getting "grittier, tougher, and rougher," according to the film's director, McG. Replacing Bill "I'll just phone in this performance" Murray with the acid-tongued king of comedy, Bernie Mac, was a start. But us gangsta gay girls want it mo' rougher, mo' better. Demi Moore better.

Hot in Striptease, hotter in G.I. Jane, her Demi-ness returns to Hollywood dripping wet and flaunting beaucoup bucks' worth of body work. But if she really wants to sizzle as the enemy du jour, Demi should kill those girls with kindness. Drew, Cameron, and Lucy have all locked lips with ladies before, and it's high time the ex-Mrs. Willis did as well. We know she's got good hands. Remember her pottery work in Ghost?

Bottom line: This movie needs extra cake, both cheese and beef--and girls on girls on girls! Who cares if straight guys dig it too? It'll pave the way for the R-rated Charlie's Angels III.
