Cesario Montano, also known as Block, has been crisscrossing the landscape interviewing all sorts for the much-discussed documentary on Christian Hosoi. Five years of efforts have now secured an abundance of rare early footage as well as pivotal recordings of such emotional moments as Hosoi's family reunion immediately upon his release from federal incarceration. By all accounts the project appears to be real, unvarnished and provocative. Block's recent Hosoi correspondents are said to include Joey Tershay, Danny Way, Tony Hawk, Fausto V, Eddie Riggins Sr, Mofo, Ivan Hosoi, Jay Adams, Grant Fukuda, Simon, Gary Owens, Jennifer Hosoi, Jim Ganzer, Louanna Rawls, Aaron Murray, Cab, Skip Engblom and Steve Olson. Also rumored to be around the proceedings are such diverse talents as Quincy Jones, Chuck Katz, Kid Frost, Snoop, Ray "Woody" Allen and even Eric Dressen. No one is certain what 'Sario is up to but they are all talking. Unfounded talk discusses an oceanfront premiere in Venice. As for Hosoi, he has had his knee redone after being prepped and counseled by Danny Way and should be back to skating full bore in a couple of weeks. The prevailing wisdom among young and old alike is that Hosoi will break out something large. Stay tuned.
