In all, more than 800 companies from around the world will exhibit at SUPERCOMM 2001. Midwestern U.S.-based companies will be located throughout the more than 550,000 net square feet of exhibit space at the Georgia World Congress Center and the Georgia Dome. These companies will represent virtually every communications technology discipline, including wireless technology, components and fiber optics fiber optics, transmission of digitized messages or information by light pulses along hair-thin glass fibers. Each fiber is surrounded by a cladding having a high index of refractance so that the light is internally reflected and travels the length of the fiber , carrier/service providers, information technology and enterprise communications.
