 by air this morning and have been deployed to help Caribbean Utilities (TSX:CUP.U) restore power to customers impacted by Hurricane Ivan. Representatives of Caribbean Utilities were at the airport to help facilitate the arrival which went smoothly.

"Personnel from Fortis and Caribbean Utilities worked closely with those from Foreign Affairs Canada and Air Canada to arrange for the evacuation of people on the return flight," says Stan Marshall, President and Chief Executive Officer, Fortis Inc."The aircraft has departed Grand Cayman with approximately 100 evacuees Resident or transient persons who have been ordered or authorized to move by competent authorities, and whose movement and accommodation are planned, organized and controlled by such authorities.  and is scheduled to arrive in Toronto later this evening after refueling in Jamaica," he adds.

The ship carrying heavy equipment from Belize Electricity is expected to be unloaded by tomorrow.
