More Asian press makers offer MuCell capability. (Injection Molding).Four more major suppliers of Asian-built injection machines have entered into licensing agreements with Trexel Inc., Woburn, Mass., for its MuCell microcellular molding process. The suppliers are * Dong Shin Hydraulics hydraulics, branch of engineering concerned mainly with moving liquids. The term is applied commonly to the study of the mechanical properties of water, other liquids, and even gases when the effects of compressibility are small. Co. A manufacturing process for forming objects, as of plastic or metal, by heating the molding material to a fluid state and injecting it into a mold. The firms are licensed to sell new MuCell-capable machines or retrofit old ones for the process. Molders also need to obtain a license from Trexel. Meanwhile, Husky Injection Molding Systems Inc., Bolton, Ont., has recently installed the MuCell process on a 2200-ton machine at its Detroit Technical Center in Novi, Mich. This may be the largest press yet equipped for MuCell molding. |
