Moody's issues updated list of ratings of Orange County, California investment pool participants.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 1995--Attached is an updated list of the unenhanced and uninsured ratings currently under review related to the participants in the Orange County, California Orange County is a county in Southern California, United States. Its county seat is Santa Ana. According to the 2000 Census, its population was 2,846,289, making it the second most populous county in the state of California, and the fifth most populous in the United States.  Investment Pool.

Moody's Moody's Corporation (NYSE: MCO) is the holding company for Moody's Investors Service which performs financial research and analysis on commercial and government entities. The company also ranks the credit-worthiness of borrowers using a standardized ratings scale.  had placed under review the ratings of the participants because of the pool's bankruptcy bankruptcy, in law, settlement of the liabilities of a person or organization wholly or partially unable to meet financial obligations. The purposes are to distribute, through a court-appointed receiver, the bankrupt's assets equitably among creditors and, in most  filing on December December: see month.  6, as well as the announced investment losses, now estimated at 22%. This list updates all prior lists published on December 6, December 12 and December 14. We have also updated the next principal and interest payment dates for each obligation.

Moody's is in active discussions with pool participants to determine the extent of their investment losses and the impact on operations given their current inability to access a large portion of their funds. We will publish comments on their current financial condition and may take selected rating actions over the next few weeks as we continue to evaluate the credit impact of the investment losses of each pool participant Participant

 ratings were lowered to SG on the County's tax exempt notes and Not Prime on the taxable notes because of the County's announced budget gap of $172 million. The ratings for the Orange County Airport Orange County Airport may refer to:
  • John Wayne Airport, also known as John Wayne-Orange County Airport, in Orange County, California.
  • Orange County Airport (New York), a general aviation airport in Montgomery, Orange County, New York.
