Monsanto launches Roundup Ready Alfalfa.Monsanto announced the launch of its new Roundup Ready Alfalfa alfalfa (ălfăl`fə) or lucern (l  sûn`), perennial leguminous plant (Medicago sativa at the World Ag Expo The World Ag Expo is the world's largest agricultural exposition. Each year it is held in Tulare, California, in the United States during the second week of February. Prior to its 2001 rename, the event was titled "California Farm Equipment Show and International Exposition. held in Tulare, CA, last month. RR Alfalfa was developed by Monsanto in cooperation with Forage forageVegetable food, including corn and hay, of wild or domestic animals. Harvested, processed, and stored forage is called silage. Forage should be harvested in early maturity to avoid a decrease in protein and fibre content as crops mature.
