The Mom 'n' Pop's product won the Reserve Grand Champion award in the unsmoked country ham category. The prize winning country ham was judged on the basis of aroma, flavor, eye appeal, shape and texture. It was among 485 entries from throughout the United States and Canada.

Since its founding 25 years ago, the WSMP division's country ham has regularly won top national and regional awards. The American Association of Meat Processors has recognized Mom 'n' Pop's Country Ham as the best in the country on several occasions. The division cures and processes approximately 500,000 hams per year, making it one of the largest country ham producers in the nation.

"We are proud of the fact that year after year Mom 'n' Pop's Country Ham is regularly judged as among the best in the land," said WSMP President and COO David R. Clark. "The consistent quality of our country ham can be attributed, in part, to our careful attention to detail."

In addition to its ham curing segment, WSMP's food processing operations include the Mom 'n' Pop's Bakery Division and the Mom 'n' Pop's Home Meal Replacement Division. The bakery is the largest of the company's food processing operations, with the capacity to produce more than four million microwaveable sandwiches per week in its Claremont facility. Creation of the Home Meal Replacement Division was announced in March when WSMP revealed plans to produce individually packaged, refrigerated re·frig·er·ate
