Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals Augments Research and Development Capability with Key Hire and Appointment of Two New Board Members.


CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals announced today that Nicholas Borys, M.D. has joined the company as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Borys' experience includes extensive work in the development of imaging pharmaceuticals for industry leading companies. The company also reported that Molecular Insight's shareholders have elected two new members to its board of directors. These new directors, Kim D. Lamon M.D., Ph.D., President and Chief Scientific Officer of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Valeant Pharmaceuticals International is a pharmaceutical company with activities spanning the drug discovery pipeline from target identification through clinical trials and commercialization.  and Harry Stylli, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Xencor, Inc. have outstanding track records in researching, developing and commercializing biopharmaceutical technologies and products.

As Chief Medical Officer at Molecular Insight, Dr. Borys will oversee the clinical development and NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) An agreement signed between two parties that have to disclose confidential information to each other in order to do business. In general, the NDA states why the information is being divulged and stipulates that it cannot be used for any  submission of BMIPP, the company's lead molecular imaging candidate. The company anticipates that BMIPP's recently initiated Phase 2b clinical trial will be followed by the pivotal Phase 3 study in 2005 and NDA submission in 2006.
