SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 1995--Molecular Biosystems Inc. (NYSE NYSE

See: New York Stock Exchange
:MB) Thursday announced the completion of Phase I clinical trials for ORALEX, the company's proprietary orally administered ultrasound imaging agent.

ORALEX successfully enhanced abdominal images and demonstrated no significant safety problems. ORALEX was shown to be more effective than the control, water, which is the only agent currently used to improve abdominal imaging.

ORALEX facilitated the displacement of gas in the stomach and provided an acoustic window which enhanced the ability to visualize the pancreas and stomach wall. It was also effective in slowing the gastric emptying process, allowing increased time of visualization for clinicians. Phase II trials are planned for summer 1995, pending the FDA FDA
