A film or layer one molecule thick formed at the interface between water and either oil or air by a substance such as a partially esterified fatty acid that contains both hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups in the same preforms. The option gives molders greater product flexibility. Husky is working with Kortec Inc., Ipswich, Mass., a major supplier of turnkey preform coinjection systems, to offer a "Kortec-ready" option on HyPET machines. The optional package includes a special stationary platen A long, thin cylinder in a typewriter or printer that guides the paper through it and serves as a backstop for the printing mechanism to bang into. It is typically made of a hard rubber or rubber-like material.
