Moinian group pays tribute to sept. 11 victims, survivors.


As a sign of its dedication to Downtown Manhatan, The Moinian Group hosted a ceremony at their luxury rental property Ocean, located at One West Street, to offer support to its tenants and dedicate a memorial to the heroes and survivors of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11.

The event brought together Rev. Caesar Espineda of the United Nation's Holy Family Church, Mark Schneier of The Hampton Synagogue and Imam Sheikh sheikh
 or shaykh

Among Arabic-speaking tribes, especially Bedouin, the male head of the family, as well as of each successively larger social unit making up the tribal structure. The sheikh is generally assisted by an informal tribal council of male elders.
 Omar Abu-Namous of the Islamic Center of New York. These prominent members of the clerfy shared their messages of hope, healing and strength with tenants of Ocean, followed by the dedication of a plaque honoring all those touched by the World Trade Center tragedy.

The final guest speaker who took part in the ceremony was Imam Sheikh Omar Saleem Abu-Namous of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York. Imam Omar earned his B.A. in Islamic Studies and Arabic from the University of London For most practical purposes, ranging from admission of students to negotiating funding from the government, the 19 constituent colleges are treated as individual universities. Within the university federation they are known as Recognised Bodies .
