Based on ebXML Core Components, UBL is designed to provide a common language that acts as an intermediate vocabulary so that one XML vocabulary can interoperate with ) technical committees to help advance the development of these standards.

Modulant will also contribute its expertise in model-based mapping approaches and technologies to advance the development of open solutions for data interoperability. Modulant is committed to breaking down the barriers to collaborative commerce caused by incompatible data vocabularies. Modulant's model-based, semantic mediation approach solves persistent data compatibility problems with consistent, open, and computable maps that can bridge the chasm among disparate data vocabularies.

"This is a critical time for companies engaged in collaborative commerce to be planning for their future interoperability needs," said Jeffrey Pollock, Modulant's chief technology officer. "Modulant's participation in OASIS demonstrates our commitment to providing a truly flexible and open interoperability framework that increases the overall value of standards in the enterprise."

"Modulant's expertise will contribute significantly to several commerce and interoperability technical committees within OASIS," said Patrick Gannon, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "We look forward to Modulant's active involvement in advancing our current work with business libraries and approaches for interoperability among disparate data vocabularies."

About Modulant

Modulant is the leading provider of semantics-based interoperability solutions that improve the speed, success rate, and ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  of integration efforts along the product value chain. Fundamentally different from traditional integration approaches, Modulant's semantic mapping, modeling, and mediation capabilities enable product lifecycle management (PLM (Product Life cycle Management) A comprehensive information system that coordinates all aspects of a product from initial concept to its eventual retirement. Sometimes called the "digital backbone" of a product, it includes the requirements phase, analysis and design ) applications to exchange information with other applications across the extended enterprise -- without requiring agreement on standard data vocabularies or custom coding of data transformations. Modulant's unique semantic mediation approach creates a loosely-coupled, scalable, and highly-adaptable interoperability framework that enables companies to significantly improve efficiency, agility, and collaboration capabilities throughout the product lifecycle -- from development through sourcing, production, and distribution.
