Mobilistings offers portable access wireless application to MRIS members. (Technology Update).

Real estate agents, brokers, and appraisers belonging to the Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc. are about to gain access to Mobilistings, a new streamlined, wireless application that delivers up-to-date real estate information from any internet-ready palm device or java-enabled cellular phone.

Officially announced this week, the Mobilistings-MRIS partnership will create portable office access for agents of 22 real estate associations in the North East, allowing them to offer more efficient and direct services to their clients.

Developed specifically for the real estate industry, enables agents to search for property information, download photo imagery, e-mail digital color "flyers" to clients, get directions to properties, and calculate payment options from nearly any field location -- in the car, with a client, or at a property site.

NaWire vice president of development Douglas Payne said, "Agents and brokers are highly mobile sales people -- professionals who can't sit behind a desk all day, pulling up listings on a PC or fumbling fum·ble
