Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Begins Offering Lifestyle-related Disease Risk Forecasting Service.Tokyo, Japan, Oct 21, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance has begun offering a service for predicting the risk of lifestyle-related diseases to its current and prospect clients. The service covers six diseases: diabetes, hyperlactacidemia, hyperlipemia hyperlipemia /hy·per·li·pe·mia/ (-li-pe´me-ah) hyperlipidemia. carbohydrate-induced hyperlipemia , hypertension, ischemic heart disease Ischemic heart disease Insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle (myocardium). Mentioned in: Myocarditis ischemic heart disease and cerebrovascular disease cerebrovascular disease Neurology Any vascular disease affecting cerebral arteries–eg ASHD, diabetic vasculopathy, HTN, which may cause a CVA or TIA with neurologic sequelae–speech, vision, movement of variable duration. . The new service, which was co-developed with Hardy, a software company specializing in health testing systems, can statistically forecast the risk of developing such diseases after 5 and 10 years using basic physical information as well as data collected from health checkups and interviews by doctor. The service is intended for the employees of the insurer's corporate clients. Through this service, the insurance company aims to ensure better health for individuals and lessen the burden of medical expenses on the client companies.
