) - Mitsui Chemicals announced on June 5 that the company and Prime Polymer have reached an agreement to increase the production capacity of polyprophylene (PP)-based automotive materials worldwide.

Currently, Mitsui Chemicals and Prime Polymer are jointly manufacturing PP-based materials in four locations: North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. , Thailand, China and Europe.

The companies plan to increase total annual production capacity by 27% from the current 237,000 tons to 300,000 tons by May 2007. With this move, Mitsui Chemicals aims to respond to a growing demand for PP-based automotive materials in North America and Asia.
