Mitsubishi Paper goes for more biomass fuel.


Mitsubishi Mitsubishi: see zaibatsu.  Paper, Tokyo Tokyo (tō`kēō), city (1990 pop. 8,163,573), capital of Japan and of Tokyo prefecture, E central Honshu, at the head of Tokyo Bay. , Japan, will install a new boiler boiler, device for generating steam. It consists of two principal parts: the furnace, which provides heat, usually by burning a fuel, and the boiler proper, a device in which the heat changes water into steam.  at its Kitagami mill. The boiler will incorporate biomass fuel, such as waste wood, as its main energy source and it will be installed in 2005. Other projects are in the works as the company prepares for the effect of the Kyoto protocol Kyoto Protocol: see global warming.  within this year. The total planned investment will be Yen 12 billion (US$ 100 million). Included projects will also include a change from heavy oil to a natural gas boiler at Takasago, and a new boiler burning waste material, such as waste wood and tires, instead of heavy oil in Hachinohe.
