Missy Elliot Gets Robert De Niro to Produce Her Biopic

That’s because legendary actor Robert De Niro is scheduled to produce the impending biopic about Elliot.

Last week, Universal Pictures announced that Elliot will star in the big-screen version of her own biopic. Although the film is still untitled and in the development phase, The Associated Press confirmed that De Niro and Jane Rosenthal will produce the movie through their Tribeca Films company.

The film should show Elliot's humble beginnings with the all-girl group Sista en route to her winning four Grammys. It may also reveal her personal struggles, just like 8 Mile did with Eminem.

Elliot released her sixth studio album, The Cookbook, last year.
