Mississippi native opens his 100th Wendy's[R] restaurant and celebrates by giving back to Mississippi communities.


This is an exciting year for 62 year old Aberdeen Old Aberdeen is part of the city of Aberdeen in Scotland. Old Aberdeen was originally a separate burgh, which was erected into a burgh of barony on 26 December 1489. It was incorporated into adjacent Aberdeen by Act of Parliament in 1891.  native, Gene Carlisle. As he celebrates his 30th year in the restaurant business, his 100th Wendy's[R] restaurant opens in Hattiesburg.

"My life has been so blessed and one of my greatest joys is giving back to the community," says Carlisle, a Southern Miss alumnus ALUMNUS, civil law. A child which one has nursed; a foster child. Dig. 40, 2, 14. .

Carlisle and his wife Karen own Carlisle Corporation, and operate 57 other Wendy's restaurants in Mississippi, as well as Wendy's in North Carolina North Carolina, state in the SE United States. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean (E), South Carolina and Georgia (S), Tennessee (W), and Virginia (N). Facts and Figures

One of the ways Carlisle enjoys giving back the most is through his company's efforts in helping children in the foster care system find permanent homes. In four short years, Children's Day of Hope has provided over $850,000 towards finding loving homes for Mississippi children. Money raised from Children's Day of Hope also helps Wendy's Wonderful Kids, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, which funds adoption recruiters who focus exclusively on finding permanent adoptive a·dop·tive

 House Adoption Program in Fulton, both have full time Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiters. Palmer Home for Children, which provides homes with a family environment for children on their campuses in Hernando and Columbus, also receives funding from Children's Day of Hope.

The fifth Annual Children's Day of Hope will be held at participating Wendy's on Sunday, November 20. Carlisle Corporation donates 100% of the day's total sales to benefit these three agencies. Other Wendy's franchisees and Wendy's International stores in Mississippi also participate by contributing a percentage of their sales.

Another way Carlisle Corporation gives back to the community is through their Wendy's Feed the Teams program where high school and college sports teams receive meal discounts. Carlisle Corporation also encourages Mississippi high schools to participate in the Wendy's High School Heisman program and hosts the state award luncheon for state winners and finalists.
