Mission Critical Software Releases Beta Version of Windows NT Domain Consolidation Toolkit.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1997--Mission Critical Software Inc. Monday announced that beta testing has begun on its Domain Consolidation Toolkit, a pair of utilities that facilitates mergers of domains in enterprise-wide Microsoft Windows NT(R) networks.

The Domain Consolidation Toolkit is a new feature to be included in Mission Critical Software's flagship product, Enterprise Administrator(R) (EA).

The Domain Consolidation Toolkit allows administrators to restructure Windows NT domains by moving user accounts, recreating global and local group memberships, and adjusting access control lists (ACLs) for files and directories.

Without the Domain Consolidation Toolkit, modifying the Windows NT domain structure to reflect business changes such as mergers and reorganizations is a time-consuming and error-prone manual task that can take administrators weeks or even months to complete. EA's Domain Consolidation Toolkit provides the utilities to automate this process, and drastically reduces the amount of time required as well as the opportunities for human error.

It supports the appointment of "Deputy" administrators with limited powers over specified sets of Windows NT user accounts, groups, and resources, and equips them with "Power Tools" that increase their productivity.

EA also enables customers to enforce their naming conventions and standards for password strength. EA produces a comprehensive audit trail of all administrative actions and comes with a full set of reports.

In keeping with Mission Critical Software's commitment to continually add value to Enterprise Administrator, the Domain Consolidation Toolkit will be included in EA at no additional charge. Enterprise Administrator, the July 1997 winner of the Faulkner Application Excellence award, is priced at $900 per domain and $14 per user account.
