OnePoint Operations Manager for Microsoft BackOffice optimizes performance, ensures availability and enhances the service levels of the following products in the Microsoft BackOffice family.

-- Microsoft SQL Server. Operations Manager directly reduces

the support costs associated with managing SQL Server

deployments through proactive database queries, and by

monitoring the performance counters and events such as user

utilization, CPU impact, lock usage and database replication

between instances.

-- Microsoft Site Server and Microsoft Site Server Commerce

Edition. Operations Manager enables you to manage all phases

of software deployment along with the availability and

performance of Site Server components such as List Builder,

Membership Broker, Push and Search. Operations Manager

provides critical information about when authentication

requests fail and/or deployments fail and provides alerts on

obscure errors that indicate a more drastic failure could

occur.

-- Microsoft Proxy Server. Maintaining a secure environment and

protecting corporate data is critical for most companies

today. Operations Manager provides immediate notification of

memory and other processing resource constraints that may

limit the ability to maintain a secure environment.

-- Microsoft Systems Management Server. Operations Manager

enables customers to manage and monitor the performance

metrics and key events generated by the Microsoft Systems

Management Server (SMS) versions 1.2 and 2.0 in Windows NT

and Windows 2000. Operations Manager helps prevent costly

service outages by ensuring that software

deployment/distribution is successful, as well as notifying

you when packages are modified, remote control attempts

fail, replication and connection failures occur and

configuration changes are made.

Microsoft Transaction Server provides the infrastructure for the middle tier in a transaction environment. It serves as the container for ActiveX components.
. Operations Manager monitors

performance and key events in the application and system

logs generated by Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) version

2.0. In addition, it highlights events that may indicate

possible service outages, or configuration problems, such as

a process failure, application load failure or out-of-memory

condition, so you can quickly take corrective or

preventative actions.

-- Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator. By detecting,

alerting on and automatically responding to critical events,

Operations Manager enables customers to isolate, correct and

prevent possible service outages or configuration problems

with key applications such as SQL Server and SNA Server.

-- Microsoft SNA Server. Operations Manager monitors and alerts

on key events generated by the Microsoft SNA Server in

Windows NT and Windows 2000 such as communication errors,

connection errors, protocol errors, bind failures and line

errors. Ensuring this critical gateway to legacy midrange

and mainframe applications is working correctly and reliably

helps prevent costly service outages.
