Miss Julia is the only female member of the secret service in Ibn-e-Safi's Imran Series. She has a Swiss origin and has been living in Imran's country for a while now.
seeks a way to save the home of Lillian, her long-time housekeeper and friend, when a local developer threatens Lillian's small neighborhood. A local eccentric offers her handsome sums to participate in the motorcycle poker run A Poker run (also known as a Poker Derby) is an organized event using a motorcycle, boat, car or other form of transportation where participants travel over a predesignated route and, at designated stops on the route, draw playing card(s).  created to raise money for the project, and Miss Julia is committed to riding. Then she strikes a deal with the developer that could save the neighborhood.

Hughes captures the essence of Miss Julia with the perfect vocal personality for Julia's age, station, and experience. Her rendition of the cultured, softly Southern voice that would certainly be Julia's is almost uncanny. She differentiates all the other characters, who vary widely in age and personality. This supremely amusing and touching story will be greatly appreciated by fans of the series--and anyone who has a grandmother or older female friend of the family will especially enjoy the tale.
