CIGARU AREA

Mispec Resources Inc. announces results from the final holes of
the first-phase drilling in the Cigaru Area in the northern part of
the Jampang Block in West Java. The Cigaru Area comprises an area of
approximately 1 square km and includes the LIPI, LIPI West, Pasir
Keusik and Puteran Simpang ore-bearing zones.
Significant assay results are reported for holes drilled on the
Pasir Keusik and Puteran Simpang zones.

The highlights of this drilling are as follows:

PASIR KEUSIK

- 1.31 g/t Au over 6.0 m (19.7 ft)
- 5.02 g/t Au over 11.0 m (36.1 ft); including
  10.28 g/t Au over 5.0 m (16.5 ft)
- 1.55 g/t Au over 33.0 m (108.3 ft)

PUTERAN-SIMPANG

- 3.73 g/t Au over 7.0 m (23.0 ft)
- 1.19 g/t Au over 9.0 m (29.5 ft)
- 2.36 g/t Au over 21.0 m (68.8 ft)
- 2.12 g/t Au over 5.0 m (16.5 ft)

The drilling reported in this release is distributed as follows:

PASIR KEUSIK : 2 Holes : 984m
PUTERAN-SIMPANG: 6 Holes : 4,265m
PRE-COLLARS : 2 Holes : #238 & 243
ABANDONED : 1 Hole : #245

The two holes reported from PASIR KEUSIK were included in
the Snowden Audit and confirm the correlation between RC and
Diamond Drilling.
Drilling on the PUTERAN-SIMPANG zone was a combination of
RC and Diamond Drilling and has continued to map the extent of
this zone.
First phase drilling has now been completed in the Cigaru
Area and a detailed assessment will be undertaken in order to plan
the 1998 drilling program.

UPDATED RESOURCE CALCULATION

Mispec is undertaking an evaluation of the drilling and plans to develop an updated resource estimate for the three zones discovered to date in the Cigaru area.

REGIONAL EXPLORATION Cipaku Drilling

As advised in August, drilling has commenced at the Cipaku prospect, located 8km south from the Cigaru Area and along the same gold bearing "corridor". Seventeen holes have been completed and samples have been submitted to the Intertek laboratory in Jakarta for assay.

Current Activity

, regional exploration in the entire Jampang holdings is being aggressively pursued. Results to date are very encouraging and indicate the presence of significant new zones of gold-bearing quartz veins and alteration. Ore grade Ore grade is a measure that describes the concentration of a valuable natural material (such as metals or minerals) in its surrounding ore. Ore grade is used to assess the economic feasibility of a mining operation: the cost of extracting a natural material from its ore is directly  values in grab and channel samples from surface showings continue to enhance the potential of the property.

12G QUALIFICATION

In the process of obtaining its 20F (Registration of Common Stock), Mispec was listed in Moody's Industrial Manual and subsequently received a 12G Blue Sky Memorandum on September 17, 1997.
