Misonix Further Expands European Presence for Prostate Cancer Treatment with Visually Directed HIFU; Sonablate(R) 500 Now Available in Hungary.

 for the marketing of Visually Directed HIFU using the Sonablate(R) 500 ("SB500") for prostate cancer prostate cancer, cancer originating in the prostate gland. Prostate cancer is the leading malignancy in men in the United States and is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death in men.  treatment in Hungary through direct equipment purchases or on a fee-per-use basis. The SB500 is a medical device developed by Focus Surgery, Inc. and manufactured and distributed in Europe by Misonix. Visually Directed HIFU is a new, non-invasive high intensity focused ultrasound technique developed by Focus Surgery and Misonix and available only with the SB500.

Misonix's pan-European HIFU strategy now includes access through in-country and cross border distribution channels into eleven countries in Europe. In addition to Hungary, these countries include some of the largest markets in Europe, such as France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is the most advanced markets in which Visually Directed HIFU has been made available, and it is the intent of Misonix to follow this successful model in other European countries.

Commenting on the continued execution of an important growth strategy, Michael A. McManus, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of Misonix, said, "This expansion into the Hungarian market represents another integral step to extend Misonix's reach in the European HIFU market.
