Misonix Announces Product Accepted for Use in Evidence and Anthrax Protection.

Misonix, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSON) today announced that there has been a substantial increase in the application and sales of Ductless Fume Enclosures.

These systems, which can be applied for mailroom, evidence and forensic protection, have gained acceptance as an effective form of protection from unknown materials, such as Anthrax. The Company has experienced a significant increase in sales and requests for proposals by prospective clients as companies and governmental agencies are on heightened alert due to the threat of bio-terrorism. Misonix's Ductless Fume Enclosures are recommended to protect workers. In addition, orders for Chemical Work Stations and Forensic Evidence Cabinets are being met to aid in the recovery of the overwhelming amount of evidence collected at the World Trade Center disaster site.

The Ductless Fume Enclosures protect workers from chemicals, fumes and odors with activated carbon filters. Our Carbon filters can be designed to remove war gases and are available for manufacture to military specifications. Additional filters protect workers from exposure to possible powder and particulate hazards.

Typical biological bacterial spores range in size from 0.5 to 5 microns in size. Electrostatically charged fiber prefilters remove sub-micron particles down to 0.5 microns. HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) Filters have an efficiency rating of 99.997% for collecting particles down to 0.3 microns. ULPA (Ultra Low Penetration Air) filters are efficient to 99.99996% and are available for filtering particles down to 0.12 microns. Misonix Ductless Fume Hoods are typically configured to include filters to meet specific applications. Misonix's PCR Laminar Flow Preparation Stations are used to prepare sterile samples without the risk of contamination when working with DNA and RNA to identify the genetic material of any specific bacteria present.
