Misonix's Sonora Medical Systems Expands into Latin America with Three New Agreements.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 2004

Misonix, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSON) today announced that its 90%-owned subsidiary, Sonora Medical Systems, has expanded into Latin America with the signing of new agreements in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Sonora, a leading supplier of aftermarket products, services, replacement transducers and test equipment to the diagnostic ultrasound market, will provide certain proprietary know-how and intellectual property to Mexico City-based Suncom Solucion Commercial S.A. de C.V., to Sao Paulo, Brazil-based ATCS Comercio e Servicos de Equipos Medicos Ltda. and to PSA, SRL, headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. These agreements are designed to allow Suncom, ATCS and PSA to perform comprehensive ultrasound repair operations in their local markets. Additionally, the license and distribution agreements call for Sonora to receive royalties from their international partners and for Sonora to support their licensees with replacement ultrasound transducers and advanced transducer repair operations from its headquarters in Longmont, Colo.

Suncom will perform repair operations on diagnostic ultrasound transducers owned by the Instituto Mexicano de Seguro Social (IMSS) public healthcare system in Mexico. The IMSS currently owns an estimated 10,000 ultrasound machines with several transducers per machine. Sonora will support Suncom in its efforts to establish and maintain regional ultrasound repair facilities for ultrasound equipment throughout Mexico.

The agreement with Brazil's ATCS establishes an exclusive distribution arrangement for Sonora's diagnostic ultrasound products in Brazil. ATCS is an established ultrasound company with over 18 years of experience in the Brazilian refurbished ultrasound equipment, ultrasound field service and repair markets.

Historically a purveyor of x-ray and MRI equipment, PSA has invested in aggressively expanding into the ultrasound market in Argentina.
