Mirus Capital Advisors Promotes Bas van der Brugge to Principal.


BOSTON -- Mirus Capital Advisors has announced that Bas van der Brugge Brugge: see Bruges, Belgium., of Boston, has been promoted to principal of the middle-market investment bank. Van der Brugge joined the firm in 2002 as an analyst and most recently served as an associate. Mirus serves venture backed start-ups, publicly traded companies, and family-owned firms throughout North America and Europe in mergers, acquisitions, buy-outs and recapitalizations.

"Bas is a very important part of the Mirus team, and we're pleased to be able to recognize his talent, capabilities, and contributions with this promotion," said Elliot Williams, president of Mirus Capital Advisors. "Bas has participated in several dozen transactions and engagements and has been a key part of our valuation practice. This past year, his skills and capabilities were especially apparent as he took a leadership role in client transactions as well as providing Section 409A valuation services to our clients."

Prior to joining Mirus, Bas was an associate with McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and a member of its Corporate Finance Practice. During his three-year tenure at McKinsey, he worked with senior management of leading European and Asian companies to provide market analysis for acquisitions and divestitures, to perform company and project valuations, and to advise and structure joint ventures and strategic alliances. He has worked extensively in the software, services, telecommunications, and transportation industries.

Van der Brugge graduated with a Master of Science degree in Financial Econometrics

Econometrics takes economic models and tests them through statistical trials. The results are then compared and contrasted against real life examples.
