Minutes of IRS, Treasury Liaison Meetings Released.

Tax Executives Institute has released the minutes of its February liaison meetings with Assistant Treasury Secretary Donald C. Lubick and other senior officials of the Treasury Department's Office of Tax Policy and with Commissioner Charles O. Rossotti and other senior representatives of the Internal Revenue Service. The meetings were held in Washington on February 9 and 10.

TEI President Lester D. Ezrati, who led TEI's delegation to the meetings, called the meetings productive. "We may not always agree," he said, "but we are pleased that the IRS and Treasury have always shown a willingness to sit down with us and try to resolve problems. This year's meetings were no exception. We believe that a full and frank airing of our points of disagreement benefits both taxpayers and the government."

The agendas for the meetings were reprinted in the January-February issue of The Tax Executive. The minutes of the meetings appear in this issue, beginning on pages 181 (Treasury) and 187 (IRS).
