Optical Transport Veteran to Head Product Marketing

ACTON, Mass. -- Mintera([R]) Corporation, the technology leader enabling migration of optical transport to 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps) in metro-core, regional and ultra long-haul networks, today announced that Niall Robinson has joined the company as Vice President of Product Marketing. Niall brings sixteen years of experience in guiding leading-edge technologies and solutions successfully into the marketplace.

Robinson is an optical transport veteran having been involved in a number of industry firsts throughout his career. Most recently as Vice President of Marketing at Optovia Corporation, Robinson was responsible for establishing the strategic product direction and market development of Optovia's innovative Hut-Skip[TM] amplifier portfolio. Prior to Optovia, Robinson was Director, Photonic Dealing with light (photons). See photon and photonics.  Systems Integration and Product Management at Qtera, which was acquired by Nortel. At Qtera, he was instrumental in bringing the industry's first ultra-long haul 10Gb/s transport system to the market, enabling service providers to greatly simplify their data-centric network architectures. Robinson joined Qtera from MCI (1) (Media Control Interface) A high-level programming interface from Microsoft and IBM for controlling multimedia devices. It provides commands and functions to open, play and close the device.
