Minister Poposki meets Ambassadors of EU member states to Macedonia.

At his meeting with the Ambassadors of the EU member states to Macedonia on 20 April, Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki called for opening membership negotiations between the Republic of Macedonia and the European Union as soon as possible. He stressed on this occasion, too, that reaching a decision for opening accession talks with Macedonia would be a significant impetus to the process of resolving the name issue with Greece. He stressed that in the coming period Macedonia was ahead of a dynamic agenda concerning its relations with the EU, expected to result in additional arguments in favor of the country's readiness to open accession talks, and added that the most important events included the second meeting of the High-Level Accession Dialogue in Skopje on 7 May.

Minister Poposki presented at the meeting the ongoing and planned activities in the areas of judiciary and home affairs and also addressed the measures being taken in regard to the public administration reform, the freedom of media and professional standards, the election process reform and the economic criteria related to the functional market economy.
