The property, which has 15 claims on it, is located on the Shebandowan Greenstone belt Greenstone belts are zones of variably metamorphosed mafic to ultramafic volcanic sequences with associated sedimentary rocks that occur within Archaean and Proterozoic cratons between granite and gneiss bodies.  in the townships of Aldina, Sackville, Marks and Adrian, about 50 kilometres west of Thunder Bay Thunder Bay, city (1991 pop. 113,946), SW Ont., Canada, on Thunder Bay inlet of Lake Superior. The city was created in 1970 by the amalgamation of the twin cities of Fort William and Port Arthur and two adjoining townships. . The property was optioned to compliment the companies' current land holdings and contains untested airborne input conductors within rocks that may host volcanic massive sulphide-type (VMS (1) (Virtual Memory System) A multiuser, multitasking, virtual memory operating system for the VAX series from Digital. VMS applications run on any VAX from the MicroVAX to the largest unit. See OpenVMS. ) deposits, RJK Explorations president and chief executive officer Glenn Kasner says.

Additionally, an Ontario geological survey The term geological survey can be used to describe both the conduct of a survey for geological purposes and an institution holding geological information.

report revealed till sampling results from the eastern part of the Shebandowan Greenstone belt indicate highly elevated metal concentrations and typical VMS indicator elements within the area.

Two boulders, or glacial floats, found on the property last summer showed "excellent mineralization" of copper, zinc, gold and silver, and Kasner is confident the newly-acquired and relatively unexplored property will prove to be valuable.

"We think it's a good property and there's a very good chance that we'll make a discovery here," Kasner says.

As a result, RJK Explorations, and Greater Lenora Resources have focused 100 per cent of their attention on that area.

"There hasn't been a whole bunch of work done in the area in the past, so it's relatively new," Kasner says. "We're seeing other areas that look pretty interesting too, so if we can possibly get a discovery where we're working now, I think well be the area for quite some time looking at other things too."

Discovered by Thunder Bay prospector Dan Calvert last August, the two glacial floats weighed 10 and 15 tonnes respectively. The southernmost float, weighing 10 tonnes, consists of massive sulphides, predominately pyrite pyrite (pī`rīt) or iron pyrites (pīrī`tēz, pə–, pī`rīts), pale brass-yellow mineral, the bisulfide of iron, FeS2. , while the northern float contains massive sulphides consisting of pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite sphalerite (sfăl`ərīt, sfā`–), mineral composed of zinc sulfide, usually containing some iron and a little cadmium. It occurs in crystals of the isometric system but more generally in cleavable, compact masses.  and galena galena (gəlē`nə) or lead glance, lustrous, blue-gray mineral crystallizing usually in cubes, sometimes in octahedrons. It is the most important ore and the principal source of lead. .

Kasner says metal value results showed up to 30 per cent zinc concentrations in the boulders, indicating there may be a larger VMS-type deposit located somewhere within the companies' property holdings.

Glacial float has been discovered in eight different locations in the area, spread over a distance of approximately 1,800 metres and forming a dispersion train bearing between 190 and 195 degrees. This direction coincides with local glacial ice flow direction, northeast to southwest, millions of years ago.

"What we've seen to date has been very encouraging," Kasner says. "There are other areas on the property that need to be looked at too, and if we can make a discovery, hopefully it will be a good one."

A 30,000-foot diamond drilling campaign on the property began in mid-January

"About 10 to 12 holes will be drilled. That's what we're budgeted for at this time," Kasner says. "We're trying to track this stuff down." Drilling is expected to finish sometime in March.

The company is at an advantage if it does discover a significant ore body because the area is so close to smelters, Kasner adds.

Including the most recently-acquired property, RJK Explorations and Greater Lenora Resources now own and control, through various option agreements, about 8,800 hectares of property.
