Miniature sensors for cavity pressure.

For small molds, new miniature cavity-pressure sensors are said to be easier to install than previous mini sensors. Introduced at NPE last month by Priamus System Technologies, LLC, Brunswick, Ohio, the sensors are protected by a housing from side loads and consequent sensitivity loss--a frequent problem with very small sensors, Priamus says. Sensor installation reportedly is thus much less critical than before, as is the required accuracy of the bore dimensions. A hardware code provides the sensitivity data to adjust the amplifiers automatically.

For the first time ever, Priamus says, the pressure sensor has an integral mounting thread to eliminate the need for a bulky mounting nut. An even smaller version is offered for sleeve installation. Tel: [phone] * PTDirect: 951RX
