Minding the ReStore.Taylor-based Masco Corp. is partnering with Habitat ReStore to build two new, affordable homes in Detroit's Core City neighborhood. They are the first homes built from funds generated by Habitat far Humanity Detroit's new ReStore operation. Habitat ReStore is a not-for-profit store operated by Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity, nonprofit ecumenical Christian organization that enables low-income people to own affordable, livable housing. Headquartered in Americus, Ga., it was founded in 1976 by businessman Millard Fuller and his wife. that sells surplus new and used building materials Building materials used in the construction industry to create . These items are donated by construction companies, home builders and individuals. ReStore has raised more than $60,000 since opening in November 2000. This amount, in conjunction with a financial contribution by the Masco Foundation, supports construction of the two new homes in southwest Detroit.
