Mindbank Receives Grant To Alleviate High Tech Worker Shortage.

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1998--Mindbank Consulting Group of Vienna, has been awarded a $325,000 grant from The Northern Virginia Northern Virginia (NoVA) consists of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties and the independent cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas, and Manassas Park.  Regional Partnership (NVRP) for a program expected to add new people to the area's IT workforce in as little as six to eight weeks.

"High-tech recruiting merely shifts information technology professionals from one company to another," said Neal S. Grunstra, Mindbank president. "With the NVRP grant, Mindbank can actually grow the IT workforce."

The grant covers startup and implementation costs of a Mindbank-proposed program to develop IT workers. Additional first-year costs will come from Mindbank and from companies enrolling their technology candidates.

Participating companies will identify candidates for training or cross-training at two levels: (1) existing technical staff who, with additional training, can fill higher level IT requirements and (2) non-technical staff with a high "IT quotient quotient - The number obtained by dividing one number (the "numerator") by another (the "denominator").
